These terms apply when you apply to join or work through B5edmtak ("we", "us", "the platform") as a repair technician. By applying or accepting jobs, you agree to them. Please also read our Privacy Policy.
1. Joining
- You apply with your name, mobile number, the device types you repair, the districts you work in, and photos of your ID document. You must be 18 or over and legally allowed to work in Lebanon.
- We review every application. We may approve or decline an application at our discretion.
- After approval, your categories and districts are managed by us. Contact us to change them.
2. Your status
You are an independent service provider, not an employee of the platform. You're responsible for your tools, the quality of the parts you use, your own conduct, and your own tax and legal obligations.
3. Receiving jobs
- Jobs are assigned to you by our team or automatically. Automatic assignment follows a fair order based on how busy technicians are and when they last received a job.
- You'll receive job alerts on WhatsApp if you agreed to receive them, and all jobs appear in your technician panel.
- Accept or reject each job promptly. If a job isn't accepted within the time limit shown in your panel (counted in working hours), it may be given to another technician.
- You can pause new jobs from your panel when you're unavailable. Jobs you already have are not affected.
- We may move a job to another technician before the diagnosis starts (for example, if you're unreachable).
4. Diagnosis and quotations
- The diagnostic fee for each type of device is set by the platform. You can't change it.
- After inspecting the device, submit an itemised quotation in the panel. The quotation includes the diagnostic fee and can't be lower than it.
- You may revise a quotation before the customer decides. The customer approves or declines in the app.
- Do not repair anything, or ask for any payment, beyond what the customer approved in the app.
5. Collecting payment
- Collect payment from the customer in cash: the approved quotation amount after the repair, or the diagnostic fee if the customer declined.
- Record every payment in the panel, accurately and promptly. Customers are asked to confirm the amount they paid. If the amounts don't match, we'll investigate and may correct your balance.
6. Commission
- The platform earns a commission of 10% on each payment recorded for your jobs, including collected diagnostic fees. We'll give you notice before changing the rate.
- Your commission is recorded in your balance, which you can see in your panel at any time.
7. Statements and settlement
- We issue you a statement every 14 days showing the jobs, amounts collected, commission, payments you made to us, and your balance.
- Pay the amount due within 7 days after the statement period ends, by cash, Whish or OMT. We'll record your payment in your balance and show it on your statements.
- Corrections are recorded as adjustments and appear on your next statement. Records are never deleted.
- If a balance remains unpaid, we'll contact you, and we may pause new jobs until it's settled.
8. Warranty
- Repairs you carry out come with the warranty shown to the customer on the quotation. You are responsible for warranty repairs of your own work, free of charge.
- When a customer claims under warranty, we'll usually assign the claim to you. After inspecting the device, mark it as covered (and repair it) or not covered with a clear reason. Our team confirms "not covered" decisions.
- If you're unavailable or decline a warranty repair of your own work, we may assign it to another technician. In that case, the compensation paid to the other technician is charged to your balance.
9. Ratings and reviews
Customers can rate your work. Ratings are used by our team to manage quality and are visible to you in your panel. We may unpublish reviews that are abusive or unrelated to the job.
10. Conduct
- Be punctual, respectful and honest with customers, and respect their homes and their devices.
- Use customers' personal information only to carry out the job, and never share it.
- Don't take platform customers off the platform. This means arranging, offering or accepting to do a job - the same one or a future one - privately, outside the platform, for a customer you met through the platform. It applies while you work with us and for 6 months after you stop.
- Keep your WhatsApp number active and reachable.
11. Penalty for taking customers off the platform
Taking platform customers off the platform is a serious breach of these terms. If it happens:
- we may suspend or remove your account immediately; and
- you agree to pay the platform, as a penalty, the commission the platform would have earned on each such job (10% of the amount charged, or of a fair estimate if the amount isn't known), plus a fixed amount of $50 for each case.
We'll tell you about the breach and the amount, and we may add it to your balance, where it appears on your next statement like any other amount due.
12. Suspension and removal
We may pause your jobs, suspend or remove your account if you break these terms, receive repeated serious complaints, leave balances unpaid, or act in a way that harms customers or the platform. Amounts you owe remain due.
13. Changes
We may update these terms. We'll change the version and date above and, for important changes, ask you to accept the new version in your panel.
14. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Lebanon, and the courts of Beirut have jurisdiction over any dispute.
